Ty and Rebecca Pepperdine

Name: Ty and Rebecca Pepperdine

Mission Field: United States/Asia

Website: https://harvestinasia.org

How long have you been on the mission field? Since 2017

In a paragraph, how did you become Born Again?
I did not grow up in a christian home, however I had several influences in my life towards christianity.  My parents got divorced when I was in the 7th grade.  This led to not much parental oversight.  This lack of oversight allowed me to get involved in many things (drinking, drugs, immorality).  This destructive lifestyle was harmful to me and those around me, so as I reflected on my high school years and considered my future, I realized it was not going to be good unless something changed.  I thought maybe Jesus could help me, so I went to church and heard the Gospel.  I repented and put my faith in Jesus that day.  I knew God had done a work in my life.  I stopped doing many of the things I knew the Holy Spirit was impressing on me to stop, however I moved to college a few months after trusting in Christ and struggled a bit with things of the world, as I did not know the importance of church or discipleship.  After three years of this slow growth, I was discipled by some men and realized it was not just about putting off, but putting on.  This made all the difference and I have been living for Him ever since.  God has been very good to me.  Living for Him is the best life.

Wedding Anniversary Date: 7/30/1993

Birthdays: Ty – 2/10/69 and Rebecca – 9/6/71

In a paragraph, can you describe the mission or vision of your ministry?
We initially surrendered to be church planters in China, during COVID-19 God transitioned us to our current role of Enlisting, Educating, and Essential ministry. We enlist in our role as Asia Representatives by visiting churches, Christian Schools, Christian colleges, or VBM-initiated events.  The purpose is to challenge more to go, to send, and to pray.  The problem remains the same; there are not enough laborers.  God has allowed us to see many surrender and several get to the field.  In the role of Dean of Administration, we educate as instructors at Vision School of Missions and administrate the application process for students, interns, and missionaries.  As deputation director I help new missionaries with the board get oriented, get trained, and raise the partners to get them to the field.  Our essential ministry remains the same were we help our parents as they get older and our two daughters as they both serve on the mission field with our grandchildren.  This last role is more supportative, however no less important.

What is the biggest challenge(s) or difficulty that you face as a missionary?
Much work is done, however seemingly not much progress.

Do you have any prayer requests that we can pray for you?
Pray that we can raise up more laborers
Pray for more students for Vision School of Missions
Pray for more to go to the very needy continent of Asia
