Andreas & Josephine Fraund, Missionaries to Germany

Names: Andreas and Josephine Fraund

What is the name of the Country where you minister?
Germany

How long have you been on the mission field?
In the town were we are for 15 years, since my seminary graduation 35 years I have been ministring mostly in Germany in different locations among Germans and Internationals

In a paragraph, how did you become Born Again?
I was raised in a christian family. So I had the example of my parents before me, what it meant to be a born again christian. I went to church with them. Near our house in Wiesbaden, was an American Missionary Bapitst church linked by its members to the american military. As I grew up the understanding grew that I have confess my sins and invite Jesus to come in my life, because also my love to Jesus grew, He died on the cross for me. And I also wanted to have a personal relationship with him, I have had a deep longing to go to church and have fellowship with the believers and read Gods Word. This happend in my early teenager years. Shortly after that I had the desire to be baptized and I got baptized by an American Missionary Baptist minister, Pastor Gamage (hope the spelling is right).I showed my baptistm photograph to Bro.Munson, when he was in Germany. Also in youth retreats in Germany my faith and realtionship to Christ grew stronger and deeper later on.

In a paragraph, can you describe the mission or vision of your ministry?
We reach out to International and German people to touch their lifes with the good news, the gospel in our area were we live and beyond. Mainly German, Philippino people couples and others, but also other nationalities to help them in their daily affairs and special situations of need, especially for those people God leads accross our path or we reach out to. We try to share the good news by word and deed. We care for the body and the soul of these people and ones we have met. We keep in contact with them through prayer and counseling and other. In sharing the love of Christ practically and through preaching and teaching the gospel of Christ we touch the lifes of people with the saving knowledge of Christ and the gospel. We invite the people we came in contact to church to present the gospel to them and mostly after that we want to provide a loving fellowship in inviting them for dinner and by other loving deeds of loving care and meeting opportunities during the week, we witness toward the love of christ for them, answer questions, counseling etc.. I preach as guest preacher and support other church ministries through my wifes and my ministry to them. My wife sings, gives testimony, works with me in visitation, invites philippino ladies and their acquaintances, usually german men, we take care of as a couple.

What is the biggest challenge(s) or difficulty that you face as a missionary?
We have to try to build relationships to people. We want the people we are reaching for Christ to become believers. Sometimes people are difficult to reach for Christ. We pray that God leads us to the people who have open hearts for Christ, are searching for truth and not want only to gain an advantage for their life and situation by our help, love and care. God and the Holy Spirit can only do the work of converting the people.,we are instruments. How can we be his most effective to fulfill this task in helping people to become followers of christ? In our times and in Germany people do not easily convert to Christ. They have so many different offers in their lifes, barriers, who keep them on away and it is hard for them to find the way to heaven and the gospel. How to overcome the barrier of their unbelief is always a big challenge and difficulty. Sometimes people misunderstand us. They daught our integrity or pure motives. Sometimes we are short on money, which also happens to other missionaries. The car needs a repair, or we need a new one and we have other costs that suddenly come up unexpected. How can we overcome these shortages of money and still to effectivily share the gospel of Christ. Though we try to do our part and leave the rest to God and he has proven to be faithful. If we had a larger financial support, we could possibly enlarge our scope of ministry and be even more independent in our work. We are open to Gods leading in the future.

Do you have any prayer requests that we can pray for you?
– Pray for people who have been invited to church to be saved and that they may came back and we can keep to be in fellowship with them
– Pray for Hazel (examed philipina nurse) to find a new work as nurse fitting for her
– Pray for a very sick brother Hans who has breast cancer
– Pray for philipino workers, who we have newly met (we stored some of their belongings) to attend church

Any additional comments you would like to share with us.
My father, Dr.Hans-Dieter Fraund was a full time ABA missionary and was well known by Bro.Strickland from Pensacola. Bro. Munson has met me, when he was in Germany. In the 1970th we attended the Missionary Baptist Church (ABA) in Taunusstr., Wiesbaden,Germany, when I was a teenager.
